Teresa Deskins

Biography

Teresa received her Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Nebraska in 1993, and a Master's at Boston University in1995. Her first professional assignment as an editor was for NBC's Real Life in 1996. From there, Teresa began editing investigative news features for WHDH-TV in Boston, where she earned an AP Production Award and was nominated for several local Emmys. In 1999, Teresa relocated to Los Angeles, where she began working in reality and documentary television. Her screen credits include The Ultimate Love Test (ABC),The Benefactor (ABC),The Law Firm (NBC),The Biggest Loser (NBC), Bound For Glory (ESPN), Miracle Workers (ABC), and Cheerleader Nation (Lifetime). Teresa is passionate about telling relevant, contemporary stories with humor and heart. She is especially interested in the phenomenon of vanishing cultures and their narratives. Her latest project is The Fighting Cholitas, a study of five female wrestlers in Bolivia, celebrating their lives both in and out of the ring. Teresa currently resides in Santa Monica, California.
