Ivan Tziboulka was born in Bulgaria. He pursued studies in Film direction in the Postdam Academy, in Germany. His first works were in Bulgaria, directing different institutional documentaries for the VREME studio. During 1988 he moved to Chile when he started to work as a director of one of the most awarded Chilean television documentary series, “Al Sur del Mundo”. His work includes several documentary series, such as “ Enlaces”, “ Los Patiperros” and the direction of the education channel, “Novasur”. In 2001 he directed his documentary “Gypsies without tents” which was nominated for the Altazor awards (2003) and obtained the LASA Award of merit in Film. He currently is an academic working in various universities in Chile.
