In the past 15 years, CARMEN LUZ PAROT, 34 years-old, journalist, has been working as a reporter and editor in major newspapers and TV networks in Chile. She was editor in chief for three years of “Plaza Italia”, prize winner and remembered TV prime-time talk-show. Carmen Luz has directed numerous music clips, including “El aparecido” for Chilean Nueva Canción band Inti-Illimani. In 1999, Carmen Luz directed her first documentary feature, “El derecho de vivir en paz” (The right to live in peace), about the life and times of Chilean songwriter Víctor Jara, which got International recognition in film festivals at Sheffield, Marsella and many others. Afterwards, work for TVN directing “Los Tres de Chile”, about the last shows of Chilean rock band Los Tres and released “Estadio Nacional” documentary in 2002. This year, Carmen Luz directed “Lo estamos pasando muy bien”, best selling DVD in Chilean history about rock band Los Prisioneros, and is preparing her next documentary feature, about Mapocho river in Santiago. She currently lives in Santiago. |
